Queen's Cup Cocktail

by 101570747 | | 0 comments

Any reason to make a new cocktail is a good reason. But Mardi Gras just might be the perfect reason. Whether you're throwing a little Mardi Party or watching the parades on St. Charles, you'll surely need a drink in hand. This one just so happens to be adorable and delicious.

We took a New Orleans classic and put our own spin on it. King's Cups are notoriously served at Emril Delmonico's restaurant during Mardi Gras season. Inspired by the King's Cup, we declared our slightly sweet, fizzy drink the Queen's Cup.

Unlike a thick daiquiri, this cocktail won't weigh you down so you can keep partying all day. You've got beads to catch!

Queen's Cup

  • 5 ounces vanilla vodka
  • 2 ounces pineapple juice
  • 2 ounces lime juice
  • Champagne for topping off
  • Yellow and green sanding sugar
  • Lime slices

  1. Add the colored sugar to one plate.  Dip the rim of the glass into a little bit of water, then into the sugar, coating the rim completely.
  2. Add the vodka, pineapple juice  and lime juice to a shaker filled with ice. Shake well and pour into prepared glasses.
  3. Top off with champagne. Garnish with lime.

With the Queen's Cup in hand, you'll be looking like royalty.

Keep dreaming,

2016 Pantone Color of the Year

by 101570747 | | 0 comments

Every year Pantone releases a color that is symbolic of what is taking place in society. This year Pantone pushed the boundaries by blending two colors: Rose Quartz and Serenity. The blending of the colors symbolizes societal movements towards equality and connection. The combination of this light pink and airy blue gave us some major inspiration. Here are some of our favorite Rose Quartz and Serenity images

Joined together, Rose Quartz and Serenity demonstrate an inherent balance between a warmer embracing rose tone and the cooler tranquil blue, reflecting connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace.

These dreamy colors have us inspired and ready for spring. And maybe craving some cotton candy too...

Go Nuts for Donuts

by 101570747 | | 0 comments

The Sunday Scaries (noun)- the dreadful feeling that comes with realizing the weekend is almost over, usually followed by the Monday Blues.

There's only one way to beat the Sunday Scaries. Treat yourself! Do you wanna stay in bed all day? Do it. Stay in your jammies and watch re-runs of your favorite TV shows. You've had a long weekend and you deserve it. Eat the donut. Calories don't count on Sundays.

No one looks this happy eating a salad.

On Sundays stick with our motto: if it feels good, do it. After all, tomorrow is Monday and it's back to kicking butt and taking names.

Keep dreaming,

New Year, New Jams

by 101570747 | | 0 comments

How many New Years Resolutions have you broken in the past? Too many to count. Maybe if it wasn't such a serious word we would be more motivated to keep them. We should call them pinky promises to ourselves. This year we're making pinky promises to ourselves that we WANT to keep. Who really wants to eat more vegetables and run a marathon? Not us! This year we promise to listen to awesome music and share it with you. Rodéo takes on Spotify!

We made a playlist of our favorite jams for the new year. Everyone in the store chose a few songs they can't stop listening to. When you're at a loss for what to listen to, you no longer have to shuffle Today's Top Hits. Our playlist "New Year, New Jams" is filled with upbeat songs and a few solid oldies. If we forgot your favorite song leave us a comment...we can add it! Follow our playlist or come listen to it when you shop in the store.
