A Rodéo Christmas - Holiday 2014 Lookbook

by 101570747 | | 0 comments

We know it's long past Christmas, but we realized that we never shared these images on the blog. We had such a blast planning and shooting this lookbook! Our goal was to create a day filled with everything Christmas. Including decorating the tree, wrapping gifts, and finally, celebrating with your best buds over drinks and dessert. These are just a few of our favorite images from the lookbook. Hopefully you got a chance to see the rest when they were live on the lookbook page!

A big thanks to Lala and Brittney, our beautiful models! And to Julep Studio for their photography! Couldn't have done it without you ladies!

Now who's ready for Spring to arrive?!

Keep Dreaming,

The Rodéo Girls

Lookbook: Fall In The City

by Carol Meche | | 0 comments

It's finally September and that means we are officially entering into fall!  We don't know about you, but here at Rodéo we are so excited to transition out of our summer wardrobes and dive right into fall fashion!

We recently shot a new lookbook downtown to feature a few of our favorite new looks for the season.

Fall in the City will show you how to wear your favorite fall pieces even if the weather doesn't exactly feel like fall yet.

It's chic boho at it's best!  We loved mixing feminine silhouettes with animal prints, leather, and some really fun graphics too!  It's everything that we are excited about for the season and that we think you need in your closet at home!

We picked a few of our favorite images from the day to show you, but make sure to check out the lookbook tab where you can see all of the images from the photo shoot!

We can't wait to see you around town in your fall best!

What are some fall trends that you are excited about wearing this season?  We are pumped to hear all about them!

Keep Dreaming,

The Rodéo Girls

Back To School Essentials: The Boyfriend Jean

by 101570747 | | 0 comments

School's in session and we are here to tell you all about our favorite back to school essential, the boyfriend jean.  We love this jean for so many reasons.  Dress it up, dress it down.  Either way it's easy to create a chic look that is on trend for fall!

It's the perfect item to wear to class and can easily be transitioned into your girl's night out ensemble.

Here are our favorite ways to mix and match them to create several different looks:

  1. Boyfriend Jeans + Playful Buttondown
  2. Boyfriend Jeans + Graphic Tee
  3. Boyfriend Jean + Playful Buttondown and Structured Blazer
  4. Boyfriend Jean + Graphic Tee and Structured Blazer
  5. Boyfriend Jean + Graphic Tee and Playful Buttondown Layered over

We love creating a contrast with the boyfriend jean by pairing them with more feminine and structured items to keep the look chic and sophisticated.

Our other essential?   A great bag that can double as a purse and a tote, perfect for housing your new phone case, a notepad for class, some fun pencils, and hair ties for those long walks across campus and whatever else you need to throw in!

We think everyone should invest in a great pair of boyfriend jeans as part of their fall wardrobe.  They are great for every body type and style and we can't think of one reason not to rock this style all season long!

Tell us, how would you wear the boyfriend jean?  We want to know!

Keep Dreaming,

The Rodéo Girls

Rodéo Style: The Fringe Bag

by 101570747 | | 0 comments

Today we want to talk to you about a fall trend that we are LOVING! And what would that fall trend be? Fringe bags of course! This accessory is a definitely a statement piece, but when paired with a great outfit it compliments it rather than overpowering it. The best thing about these fringe bags is that they can transition between different style genres. Whether you are city chic or laid-back boho, this trend will work for you.

Look One: City Chic

Let's just state the obvious here. This bag is pure brilliance. Just look at all that glorious fringe. For this stand-out bag, we decided to go "downtown" city chic. We were channeling a look that felt sophisticated and clean but that still classified as cool and edgy. This dress couldn't have been more perfect for this look. Its classic black & white stripes and asymmetrical hem met all the requirements on our checklist. We added bright pink Kendra Scott earrings and some funky bangles to give this outfit the cool factor it needed.

Look Two: Laid-back Boho

For our second look we decided to focus on a smaller cross-body bag. We are big fans of the cross-body bag at Rodéo, as we prefer having our hands free when shopping or running errands. Things are easier with two hands, you know? We channeled our inner hippie by pairing this bag with our new favorite Show Me Your Mumu Dress. We felt that simpler gold accessories were the way to go, so that the dress and bag could really shine. This outfit would transition so well into fall too. Just give us some tights, a vest, and a hat and we'd be good to go!

So are you ready to jump on the fringe bag bandwagon? If so, come see us! We've got plenty of styles to choose from and we guarantee there is one to match your style!

Keep Dreaming,

The Rodéo Girls

Rodéo Style: The Free People Slip

by 101570747 | | 0 comments

Fall is our favorite time of year. Booties, layers, and the crisp that's in the just can't get here soon enough. However, in Louisiana, we have quite a while until fall weather graces our presence. So in the meantime, it is all about fall transition pieces. One of our favorite pieces to play around with is the Free People "eyelashes" slip. It is such a versatile piece that can be layered as a dress or as a tunic worn over denim.

It's interesting to see how different these looks turned out. It's really all about different layering pieces and we can't decide which look is our favorite! From day to night, each look gives us that fall feeling we love while still being weather appropriate.

Look Number One: The Free People Slip Worn as a Tunic

For this look, we wanted to layer the slip as a tunic.  We made the slip appropriate by layering a bralette underneath. We then put a comfy cotton tank over the top (tied up to give shape) and put it with a great pair of denim and heels. We finished the look off with a statement necklace.

This look feels effortless and boho and is easily worn at this time of year, but can be translated as the weather shifts too.  Just swap your tank with a light sweater or jacket and you are all set!

Look Number Two: The Free People Slip Worn as a Dress

For this look, we layered one of our favorite new lightweight pullovers over the slip to give a more edgy boho look.  Simply pair the layered slip with some booties, a great necklace, and of course a bright shade on your lips and you are ready for day or night.

Again this look gives you all of the elements that you love about fall and can be worn now, which is the best part.  As the weather cools down, throw on your favorite pair of tights and a scarf and you can rock this look all season long.

Either look is great and what we love is that anyone can wear a version of the slip to fit their own style.

Are you looking forward to fall style?  We are more than ready here at Rodéo!

Tell us, how would you rock this look?

Keep Dreaming,

The Rodéo Girls
